thanks GasGuzzler, I am PMing you my VIN...just so I know how good the warranty is....and your right, I may just find a good 6.0, add a cam and swap that in...that's what I'd rather have.
And yea, knew they wouldn't do a free upgrade from 4.8 to 5.3, just was asking is it possible and I pay the difference. I knew there would be no way to swap a 4.8 for a 5.3 even. Was just wondering what GM's stance on that would be.
    thanks for the inside info!!

It was sold new in Norman and does not show to have a GM extended warranty.

What will happen now is the dealer will have to tear it down IF they think it's a problem. The tear down will be for the aftermarket warranty company to come and decide if and how much of the repair is covered. You would be responsible for the tear down labor IF the warranty will not fix it. The upgrade in engine size is up to the warranty company but if they cover trans, etc., they might not go for it. Then again, IF the warranty company OK's an engine AND they don't order it (many times these companies send their own engines, etc. to reduce cost) the parts department might work with you on a swap up in size.

There are several site members that are from the OKC area that can lead you to a place to buy a 6.0.

BTW, you have an open recall that takes a couple minutes to complete.

G&R auto is a great company for quality engines. Not sure on their prices but they do their customers right.
