yeah, if you ask if one is better than the other you will get a lot of opinions. I have a 408 and I know its not better than some smaller engines. A lot of times its just the combination of matched parts that makes the best engine. We can't all throw $5000 worth of turbo stuff on an engine to make up for its lack of power. We know a factory engine 99% of the time is going to give us the most dependable and longest lasting power without having to keep pouring more money into the engine. I'll always advise a stock HP engine before a performance built engine if someone wants a daily driver or longevity. For all out power its got to be nitrous on top of a forged engine, be prepared to pay weekly if not daily for nitrous refills. In between is the turbo trucks but you always hear of things going out on a turbo engine, if not the turbo itself its a pipe, coupler, weld, controller, wastegate, BOV or something else. Its all about what you want out of your engine and the sacrifices you'll make for power.

I know DBRODS' LS2 is aluminum and he's faster than I am with less cubes and less nitrous. 400 lbs makes you about .4 seconds faster.
yes for every 100lbs its 1/10th but if i was worried about 90lbs which would almost be a full tenth im sure i could make it up other wise besides the weight of a motor.

as for 4.8L no never once thought of it but it was good price to get truck driving.

Dbrods probably has a lighter truck and better chosen mods. his motor weight isnt what making him faster

if we were worried about weight we wouldnt be modding trucks for actual drag racing.

the price of th LS3 isnt worth the performance one bit. now if hte money was same as ls1 or ls2 or LQ then yes go with LS3 but since ppl want crazy money no sense on using a LS3 when its nothing more then a 6.0 with a .060 bore. you could build an iron LS3 if you chose to for less then the cost of a LS3
    2002 Lightning - GT headed 5.5Litre w/ Twin 7665s
    2002 Silverado - 427Lsx w/ Twin gt4202s
    2010 Silverado crewcab Z71 - 5.3litre w/ procharger
    2000 Wrangler - 5.3litre with some stance
    2014 Xsport- 3.5 Eco boost

it ain't that I'm too big to listen to the rumors, It's just that I'm too damn big to pay attention to 'em..That's the difference

Wow that is kinda a lot to read for me. I am not the best when it comes to a lot of reading.

So in simple terms, you guys are telling me to go with the 6.0. From there you guys can help me with the rest? Like parts and what to do and stuff. I got a few friends out here that can help me.

I need to meet more gear heads close because I dont want to pay a shop. That would kill me. I had friend from the SS site he said he got his 6.0 bored out to a 6.1. No cats either. Turbo up to 12 psi or so.

Lets just say it scared me when he started it hahah!
