And if LS3/L92 heads were so bad why would Nelson Racing Engines, and other top flight outfits include them in their motor packages? Uuuh huh!

The LS2 put out 400hp in the Vettes and Gto's... it took 11 to 1 CR to get there with the LS2 vs. 10.5 to 1 and Ooooh some much left on the table with the LS3.... But what do I know, I'm building a 6.0 block with L92 heads

I think a lq9 with bolt ons would be best with a budget in mind. I don't think he ever said he wanted a 408 think he just wants to go alil faster

yeah, if you ask if one is better than the other you will get a lot of opinions. I have a 408 and I know its not better than some smaller engines. A lot of times its just the combination of matched parts that makes the best engine. We can't all throw $5000 worth of turbo stuff on an engine to make up for its lack of power. We know a factory engine 99% of the time is going to give us the most dependable and longest lasting power without having to keep pouring more money into the engine. I'll always advise a stock HP engine before a performance built engine if someone wants a daily driver or longevity. For all out power its got to be nitrous on top of a forged engine, be prepared to pay weekly if not daily for nitrous refills. In between is the turbo trucks but you always hear of things going out on a turbo engine, if not the turbo itself its a pipe, coupler, weld, controller, wastegate, BOV or something else. Its all about what you want out of your engine and the sacrifices you'll make for power.
