    the increase was from the intake manifold. they actually chose a less aggressive cam for the 01-02 motors. the 98-00 cams were more aggressive.

    You're right, just looked it is less aggressive. It's also a reverse split duration cam.
    What allowed them to loose the EGR.

    It is the LQ9 cam though.

    207/196 int/exh @ 0.05" duration
    0.479" / 0.467" int/exh lift
