    Maybe I'm wrong but from what I read the driver was rear ended by a teen that had taken the parents car without permission and was joyriding with four friends when they hit the Camaro. That sucks for all envolved buy the safety features of the new design prevented too much damage to the driver. The shower of glass from the rear window would have been a bit much for rear seat passengers, though. That would be a good reason for some sort of safety film on the glass or real safety glass rather than the stuff that just crumbles apart. Tinting works great to protect from the mess of the powdered glass.
