Thread: Top Speed?

    I was sitting around talking to a friend about the top speed in our 04 5.3L. What do you think the top speed is on them? What is the fastest anyone has had their trucks up to? There has to be a certain point where the force is so great the truck just wont push anymore. I was guessing top speed could be around 130.

    My 92 was running side by side to a 96 vette and she said it was going 145 with the old LT1 engine. Who knows how accurate the vette speedometer was though, totally stock vette.

    i have had mine over 140 a few times. there is a vid floating around here of me and V8 doing some speed. we shift into 4th at 120 and we kept going for a while.

    NELSON 93 hot tune, 02 PCM, VOLANT Ram air intake, MSD wires, ACdelco iridium plugs , Edelbrock ceramic shorty headers, jegs off-road y pipe, Dynamax int pipe, 3" Magnaflow Exhaust with turndown, EGR removal, throttle body bypass, vette servo, long servo pin, performance 4th apply piston, B&M shift kit, SLP 160* thermostat, LS1 Fans, NELSON harness, ported and polished throttle body (did it myself, for free lol)..... _______? cam is next as soon as i stop spending all my money

    Older engines had EGR, newer models don&#39;t. EGR delete sets the PCM up like it never had the EGR and will make it possible to pass the EGR testing once the EGR has been removed from the vehicle.

    Stock isn&#39;;t there like a 108 limiter? Haven&#39;t had a LS1 truck up that high but been damn near 150 in my bros not so stock R/T and it was still pulling like crazy.

    What is everyones limiter set on after they got there tune.
