whatever is in a 08 silverado.

as for trans internals that depends on your future plans. if you want a true daily driver with 500 rwhp your trans should be fine with a good quailty build. if you want over that and plan to trash on it alot then upgrade to a 80e. now alot of ppl run FLT trans and have issues with them at that powre level and those ppl say you need an 80 but then there are other ppl running a locally built trans making more power then 500 and having good success. So it comes down to i guess who you know and what price is to get your 60 built.

to get you running your 60 will work for now just be smart about it. theres a silverado SS on a stock trans with shift kit running low 12s high 11s. this is the way GM assembled trans minus a shift kit. his lives by playing with hte tune

it ain't that I'm too big to listen to the rumors, It's just that I'm too damn big to pay attention to 'em..That's the difference

4L70E is in the 08's, much better than a 60E but still no where near an 80E. Do the 80E first

dont forget if you go 80 direction. you now need to rework your harness or buy a harness, get a tune for the 80, modify your crossmember and possibly exhaust [depends on custom or etc] also its a stock trans so it needs to be built as well.

I say turbo it. Build the 60e for now, and then if/when the 60e goes get yourself a built 80e.

A 70 is not that much better than a 65 which is not that much better than a 60. I'm only referring to stock. In fact, there is hardly any difference in the 70and the 65. The 5-gear planets in the 65 over the 60 aren't that significant until you get to big power because there are so many more weaker links in a 60....the planets rarely fail although some have split the planet carriers.
