Amp mounting

This is what i did, made a box to mount amp too. Made 2 brakets that i screwed to cab, useing only 2 screws then screwed amp to box, hope this helps

The heavy duty Velcro that they have at the hardware store held my amp rack to the back wall for 6 years just fine before I took it out.

You could also use threaded rivets so that you can actually put bolts in to hold the amp thats how i have mine

I hate to admit this, at least I was only 16 when it happened. I once installed a CD changer and put a drywall screw through an airbag controller wire under the driver seat on a GMT400.

I know, I have seen some pretty bad stuff in my years of installing. If you are mounting on the back wall you are usually pretty safe, otherwise, check twice drill once. if in doubt, drill your hole first and use a small screwdriver or allen wrench to check depth so you know how long of screw you can use. I installed an amp once in this kid's ranger, he said I punctured his gas tank. I told him no because I double-check everything before I just go shooting screws into a vehicle. I didn't think to remind him that it smelled like gas as soon as I pulled it into the bay before I started the install. It always seems that stuff magically starts going wrong as soon as someone else works on your vehicle. Like the moron that thought I messed up his a/c controls in his 98 f150 when I installed his double din. He came in hootin' and hollarin' all of his "just cuz I'm black" nonsense that I broke his a/c controls because the lights didn't come on anymore and didn't fix it because he was black and I figured he wouldn't notice. I replaced the 8yr old bulbs that were out when he came to the shop for the install and said "here are some extra bulbs in case they ever burn out again, have a nice day". The dumb-founded look on his face was priceless, A-hole didn't even apologize for his rantings or admit that he was in the wrong.

mine is mounted to my back wall right now...took liquid nails.half inch plywood...smeared that biotch all over the place...made 2 lil braces to hold it up for 24hrs to let it set up....a day later that things wasnt moving...got a memphis baby belle and a capacitor hanging on it...and still havent moved...for bout a year now

Good idea there. Also a 3M Marine Sealant/ Caulking called "5200", is a good one as well.
