    yea since its near the weekend,im going to have to do with this dang plate,and just find allen bolts if i get lucky.thanks for the tips

    It would make the cam hard to turn but not impossible. Trouble is not hard to turn but that the spring pressure would make the cam "want" to be in the place of least resistance i.e. not where you need it to be.

    i say yes... put the gear back on with everything where it goes... then u will not need to turn the cam after you torque all the upper stuff. just line it up for now. i have a few of those plates too... if you can wait till sat or sunday.. i might be home if you cant find the right one....

    i was kind of thinking that to since they would be torqued,ill just wait,just wanted to see if that shortcut would work.thanks

    yea i can maybe line everything back to top dead center,shoot bro if i dont find anything by then ill get with you.

    Grind a little off the heads of the bolts, they don't need to hang out so far, just enough for you to put the torque to them. 22 ft/lbs, right?

    The parts you received are superceded part numbers. The PNs I gave you were for LS1 parts. The holes should have been straight through and the bolt heads would have been 10mm diameter, not 13. Weird. I understand GM wanting to stock less inventory though.
