I finally got out to the lake today and skied for the first time since last November. I must be getting old, because I don't remember being this sore ever before. What do you guys do to stay in shape when you can't go outside in the winter?

Yeah I go and play basketball with my boss a couple of weeks ago, now I am in running shape, but damn! I was sore for days! But since he was there he knows I had an excuse for being slow at work for a few days. I know how ya feel man! I cant stay up on skies, but it wont stop me from trying this summer!

Winter what winter? Theres no such thing as winter in the Army. J/K, I hate doing exercises out in the cold, but those bastards still make us. I specifically hate their cold weather uniform, is anything but warm. Is one of those things that you just learn how deal with thought, but it still leaks balls.
Had a 91 SB, Open diff, 3.08 gears, stock LS1/T56. 14.8@95.9...sold.
Now, 90 C1500 350tbi/NV3500....just bought a 5.3...need T56, Swap parts.....
I hand't thought of joining the army to stay in shape. That's pretty extreme for me, but I have to thank you for doing it.Originally posted by LS1Nica@Apr 17 2005, 01:30 AM

Hey man have you ever thought of taking up snow skiing?
99 excab, Nelson Tune, k&n FIPKII, pacesetter long tubes, No Cats, Dual Magnaflows with turndowns,
1/4: 15.66@88.1 Before Nelson, headers, and de-cating
Also 69 camaro SS 350 4speed, 13.81@103.6, Ls1 swap planned
Bowflex and a bicycle does it for me. The first day is always awsome and the first "day after" alwasy sucks!

camaross82: I love snow skiing, but my job makes it so I can't leave town for 3 months from Jan to mid April. Plus, by the time I add travel it gets really expensive.
malibuskier: I guess that's right. It only gets better as the summer goes on. I"m hoping to get thru '35 off this summer, so I have some work ahead of me. Where do you ski?
The bowflex sounds like an awesome idea.

I stay in shape by lounging around and drinking a few cold ones. Round is a shape isn't it?![]()

I pretty much stay in shape at work. All of my compressors are any where from 10 to 20 feet in the air so I get to go up and down stairs all day. I'd rather be skiing though.

I do all my skiing at Lake SHasta in Northern California. I am fortunate to have a houseboat there, so I spend quite a bit of time there. The wife & kids go for the summer and I get three weeks (plus weekends). It's quite an awsome lake. 35,000+ acre feet of surface area and 197 miles of shoreline. There is always flat water to find and I love searching for it...![]()
