Dave, some Yank converters require you to use 1/8" washers inbetween the converter ears and the flexplate. If you do not do this, when you bolt up the converter--either the converter flops around and bangs against the flexplate or you pull the converter too far off the hub and the pump seal is not solid and you can burn up the pump.
I would recommend using RTV or a type of glue to set the washers on the flexplate--cause if hyou don't do that, it will take little fingers to get in there and put the washer inbetween the converter ears and the flexplate--while trying to get the bolt on...
