408 on spray - how much is too much?

Been thinking of doing a 408.. I'm wanting to be able to spray a 300shot but is the 408 to shallow on the cylinder walls to be spraying that much?? I'm wondering if a 402 would be more suitable for that much rather then the 408? Any help is appericated.

I think the thicker walls would be a benefit

Yeah, my 408 is sprayed all the time at the track. Its been through over 30 10 lb bottles so far. Of course its built for it and has hellfire rings.

I would not spray more than 1000HP.

But don't listen to me I know very little about the go juice.

the heads are cheap Patriots. The rings are SpeedPro and can be bought from and SpeedPro dealer. Pistons are Mahle, be sure you buy the ones made for nitrous, not turbo. I have a post somewhere on here detailing all the parts in the engine assembly.

Cool, thanks for the list.. I've been mostly just browsing online on Texas-speed website but i'm sure giving them a call they will have the right piston setup for me..
