You could get a 5.3 core block and have it bored to 5.7 and then put all the LS1 parts in it.

Hmmmm... I think Dale has a 5.3L block just laying around. How convenient!

getting all 8 cylinders bored and honed to 5.7L dimensions is the cheapest mod you can do to build hp on a 5.3L engine. Added benefit is you only need one piston/rod assembly to finish the build. Getting it balanced would be great, too. Maybe Xtreme can bore and balance it for you.

LS1 aluminum 5.7L motors can be bored out to .010--nothing more. The block thickness cannot handle more than .010. But you can bore it out and re-sleeve it...back to a 5.7L displacement.
Man , aluminum blocks , .10 is all , not good for rebuilds then .
Now what is a tune again?

dude its just one thing after another...maybe you should just put the truck in a padded room for a few weeks till everything cools off.
