I have the later and installed one washer not because of the spring retainer bending but concern over the tolerance seemed a little excessive compared to the pin boss....as in the additional spring force might force the retainer past the boss. I tuned the 1-2 force WAY down (10% to 30% of stock) so it's been liveable. But I was tentatively planning on going back in and removing the washer but adding a smaller thinner washer that would fit inside the retainer recess with the tighter tolerance on pin (acting as backing plate to retainer). You raise a point though that I hadn't considered a problem until now...the strength of the out edges of spring retainer. The backing washer I was planning would reinforce some but question is will it be enough considering it was only going to extend to the circumference of the recess? Or do I get a handfull of similar size washers to the three Transgo washers and drill the ID to the size of the lower part of the pin....stack enough washers to near boss height...and then add spring retainer (maybe also drilled to lower slightly). Effectively the force is distributed to the bottom of the case instead of the pin boss and the spring retainer edges are completely supported. Thoughts?
