i dont remember exactly, but i was reading somewhere that the checks actually clear the bank...but like a few weeks later the bank finds otu its a fake and then the cost goes to whoever cased/deposited it.

I see 2 to 3 of these checks a week. I take them from people and tell the customer they are fake. I then tell them that I do not give the checks backs so they cant take someone else with this scam. I also tell them they can call the police on me. Most swear that its real. I have sent more than one idiot to prison over it. I have only been burnt 2 times. Both times were because of employees that are no longer with me. Both people that passed the scam checks went to prison.
I have a huge manila envelope full of these checks. I have had a few threaten my life cause I won't give them the check back. The store tazer gun and glock usually changes their minds.

The checks don't clear. They just allow you access to the funds before it clears. Most banks don't do this unless they know you really well and you have a history of depositing large checks. My bank will allow me access to the checks that I deposit only because of my outstanding track record of cashing checks.

They are in Nigeria and Canada and a few are in the United States. The US Government will not spend the money to stop them. I would nuke Nigeria personally. Give 10 days to surrender all the scammers or BOOOOOOOMMMM

I haven't seen the TDD calls in a long time.

The worst part about this is the American public is too stupid to catch on and a ton of people get bit.

The reason for the stupidity is really simple. I can sum it up in one word.

    Greed
