Thread: Couple questions on 5.3 to 6.0 swap

    check the flywheel, if its flat, it won't work as a swap for a smaller gen3 engine. If its dished it will be a straight swap. The correct length crankshaft will have a snout almost flush with the rear motor cover. if is sticks out 1/2" then its a no go.

    Another question.

    Is there a code within the VIN# on the engine that will prove it is an 01'?

    I just want to make sure I am getting what I asked for because they seem a little shady...

    Whats raising a red flag is the part discription on the receipt says the motor came out of a 2001 1500 Silverado...I am a little skeptical. But the motor should be here tomorrow.
