I have about 85k on my truck right now, and I have checked my brake pads several times since I have had my truck and the brake pads don't seem to be worn very much. When do you guys change your brake pads and do you do it yourself?

I changed my first set at like 80,000. They weren't worn that much, but I just couldn't believe that they were still good after that many miles. I'm going through the rear brakes now pretty fast. Wonder why?![]()

308,000 and climbing on my brakes and they work like new. Factory linings are still going strong.

Wow, I just couldn't beleive I still have a good amount of brake pad left after this many miles. But, it seems everyone has this luck with their brakes.
Thanks,

If you season them correctly when they're new they will last a really long time. It helps to drive a lot of highway miles, also.![]()

Well, my truck sees just about all types of driving, except racing since I am too poor to make it fast.
