yeh i need rear help alright.lol.Im soory red but you really didnt clarify my response. Is it a 14 bolt or 12 in the ss vho o5 plus .and is the the only yr /appl thatll work?Im good with that and a trutrac if so .I was under the impression ss vho was a 12 bolt.I didnt want to go with 12 bolt if i didnt have to ,i feel more comfortable with the 14 bolt.thanks. O yeh i think im askin too much here but is theyre any chance of getting any of these in 4.10 ratio? or am i stuck with 3.73 factory setup with these rears?of course when i install trutrac i could do gears, but the bill is starting to add up ya know,so if it was possible to find a 4.10 ratio ,id like to .thanks again

The 14 bolt axle is what you want but be sure you tell them you want the 1/2T HD or 3/4T light duty rear axle not the full 1T 8 bolt axle.

yessir, that's what you're looking for. I have a 91 model 4wd 14 bolt in mine, its about 3/4" more narrow than the 2wd axle though.

one of the things you may have to change is the rear driveshaft ujoint to a crossover joint. The 14 bolts most often have a 1.187 cap size instead of 1.06 or 1.125 that are common to the 1/2T truck driveshafts. The VHO, wasn't it available all the way back in 2002? I'm not sure about the older axles but they're probably the same spacing between spring pads, if not you can cut them off and reweld them the same as your's.

I can't answer that part. I had the backing plates off mine and the bolt pattern from my 1/2T stuff is much different than the 14bolt setup. That with the OBS stuff. The VHO or SSS may have discs, VHO most likely, if you can find one through a salvage locator service.
