I'd go with some pacesetter longtubes, that way when you do get a cam you wont be sufficating it with your stock manifolds and y-pipe.
Also pacesetters are a very easy install to do yourself for a good horsepower gain. I dont know if this will apply for you, but i had a greater E.T. gain from my longtube install. My LS6 cam didnt really do that much but help my upper rpm's. But! that was with my stock ls1 it might be different for a 4.8l.
