I am considering getting a Nelson tune and am wondering if you lose the Tow/Haul Functionality? I tow a 4500lb boat every weekend (in the summer) and like the Tow setting to be engaged, will I lose this. Really I care more about the performance boost and will get it anyway, I am just curious.

You will love the tune and it will work better in all situations not just towing or racing. Some use the tow mode for the track as it raises shift pressures and points. Allen can program it however you like and you will still have your tow mode. BTW if you tow make sure you get a shift kit and a big trans cooler.

That's cool...I definately want to get it...just have to save up some more dough since I just dropped $750 on my exhaust and intake. The shift kit will likely be next, but I've never worked on an tranny before. How easy is the 4l60E to install?

It's real easy. Just follow the instructions to the tee. If you have questions, just ask or call TransGo for details. Don't tell them you are in individual or they wont help you. While you're doing the install, put you a drain plug in the pan so you can change fluid after heavy usage.

I use Tow/Haul all the time when I tow. I have about a 3500-4000lb boat that I tow and It tows it fine... well even better than before. I was folowing a buddy that I hadn't fish with in a while before I got it tuned and he passed a van that was in front of us. We were about to go into a curve soon so I had to get around it pretty quickly so I eased into it and flew around the van. When we stopped at my bro. house back in town his comments were " Man you must have that truck souped up or something !!! " and I was like "Why ???" w/ a grin on my face and he was like " Man you flew around that van we passed like it was nothin !!! " So I told him " Yeah I had it tuned... " LOL. He still didn't know what I was talking about but Oh well...Zed

Zed, that's pretty funny man....I'll probably be hitting you up for some pointers in a couple months when I get my transgo & servo.
