Are these wheels that customers don't want when they buy aftermarket wheels? Does Chevrolet send extra wheels in case some get damaged? Just wondering.

Yes, take-offs for custom wheel installs by the dealer.

We sometimes (rarely) install GM Accessory wheels. Sometimes, the truck they go on has factory 20's. If we do it before it sells, we keep the take offs to resell. If it's part of a new car deal, sometimes the customer takes the take offs to resell or keep as spares (or install on another truck), sometimes we keep them and resell them.

So does this mean I can just go to the parts counter and ask if they have any take-offs? Good to know. Thanks, Art...

yeah you should be able to ask the parts or maybe sales dept. if they have any take-offs for sale..

on a side not the guy needing the avalanche wheels got screwed out of the set I found him... had them loaded up in the back of the truck and service manager already had the money and a salesman come out and said they had them held for a customer.... SOOOO if you guys see any around let me know, cause he is still looking!

I would contact someone in sales first. Many times the parts department has no idea what has been taken off and what prices the sales department wants for the stuff. I did some internet sales of accessories and take off's as a side deal for my store for a while and the parts department had no real say expect for having to do the shipping.
