The bolts are 40 torx head. The best way is to remove the bolts as bending the bracket doesn't usually allow enough room and ummm.....bends your bracket. Also, prying can cause the shift cable's plastic to break in approximately 1 out of 7 tries. Make sure you use a pick to clean out anything in the bolt head to prevent stripping.
