OK, just relaying what the builder told me here - NOT pointing fingers...
1.) The wrong valve body gasket on the case side was in there. He said it was an old-style gasket. Not sure what that means exactly.
2.) There were some check balls missing. Don't know how many, don't know if FLT leaves them out for certain reasons, don't know, don't know, don't know. This is just what I was told.
3.) The hole drilled in the drum is a "T". It extends through the bottom, then another hole drilled from the side intersects it. He talked to Trans Go and they said that would allow too much air leakage or whatever.
4.) He recommended I check my shift point for the 2-3 shift. He again talked to one of the guru's at Trans Go and was told that the tolerances on the drums vary from drum to drum. So some will hold 6800resulting in rpm's it's whole life with no issue and some can't hold 6100. So his suggestion was to adjust the 2-3 shift point to 5800.
5.) He said on the piston seal, there are two seals and one tends to fold when under pressure resulting in only one seal trying to hold the seal. Not sure if there was a solution to that or what...
I'm again just relaying what he told me. I'm hesitant to even post this because I don't want it to look like I'm pointing a finger at you Greg...I'm just posting up as things unfold.
