Thumbs up Thanks to Nelson Performance

So today im driving and hearing a tapping from my motor. im thinking wtf? and then i see my oil pressure is like 20-40 pounds, i just had the oil changed also so i knew it was full. well i had about 4 more miles so i just drove easy and then i got to auto zone. check the oil and its bone dry :wtf: then i look and see a ton of oil down along the front crossmember and radiator area. i was thinking where on the front lower of the engine could it be leaking??

so i go and buy a few jugs of oil, put it in, start it up and holy jed clampett i got oil pouring straight out made a gallon jug size puddle right there in autozone parking lot. so i go and buy a bag of that oil absorb stuff and dump the entire bag into the puddle. man im thinking the EPA may be pulling up any minute. So i saw it was spraying out from somewhere inside the drivers side fender. and then digging around in the oily mess i find a tube that is just open and think that's where its coming from. but its not its just a vent tube or smog stuff that is supposed to be open.

i figured it was some kinda oil cooler or something but really didnt know for sure. so i call Allen and he gives me great advice, even if i cant get to the leak he told me i could cap them temp at the filter.

so anyways it was in plain site and i got it back on. the lower tube popped off the oil cooler on the rad

all back running fine and no damage.

I've seen the older mid-90's Northstar 9 engines do that (they hold 8 qts) and blue hairs drive them in empty with no damage....LOL

20 pounds won't hurt anything but your pride.
