iv never seen so much bad information, the first post in this thread suggested an ls1 easier swap than an lt1

... an lt1 is the same sbc block that the truck left the factory with, of course its easier. both motors perform, ls motor takes less parts to make power, lt1 parts are so cheep you can build it just as powerfull for probably less money, and the initial cost of an lt1 is MUCH cheaper. to the original poster, i would try other forums, ones with a more well rounded knowledge base rather than this site, its got good knowledge for ls based motors but thats it, its extremely bias... EXTREMELY! lol
my vote is lt1 just for the ease of it, ls would be cool too, but not worth the extra money and time. it also depends alot about what your using the truck for, becasue those 2 motors shine in very different areas, even if this whole forum will tell you that ls motors are superior in every aspect lol, becasue honestly they both have their ups and downs. in a big offroad rig, an ls motor would be stupid, wont have nearly the low end grunt, but on a street truck, the ls would probably be the winner becasue its such a great high rpm motor compared to an old school sbc.
when it comes to quality either one will be a built motor, the ls wont be any better or worse in quality than the lt1, its all about what you build. with an old school sbc, you can built whatever the hell you want so its hard to compare the 2.
