OK. If I can make it on the day you guys choose I can bring some hard parts, a bunch of assorted FREE small parts (seals, etc.) and maybe some special tools that Greg may or may not have to make it quicker. 3-4 failures are oil problems, not abuse (usually) and are common (but not likely FLT's fault). I look forward to it IF I can make it by. Greg's not that far from me (in fact he's probably the closest regular user here).

    Still thinking....

Sux to hear moze, but running around with your setup and a 60e is just asking for it, as you know.
Start saving for an 80e, you'll need it.
This will be one of many rebuilds.

Just a tip, increase line pressure to help hold those clutches together. It's ok for the trans to hit hard! Just not neck breaking, you'll know if it's too hard.

good luck, i'm sure the guys will get your squared away.

btw, a stock 80e with a shiftkit should run you around 1K.

    later,
    allen

3-4's go out from lack of oil (Allen agrees by upping pressures there) and lllllooooonnnnnggggg WFO 4th gear pulls (or towing).

but then he has to buy a converter so he's not turn a 50 lbs weight, another $800 or so. I've got an 80e here but no small converters and it needs new clutches and steels plus a slip joint type output shaft, this one is a bolt on shaft.

Would love it if you could make it Nathan.

Allen, the logistics are keeping me from the 80e. Don't think I have time to find and install the 80 since I would need the crossmember modified, driveshaft, harness, etc........

    Unless someone knows some shortcuts.

read over Allen's 80e conversion post and see the inventory of part you'll need, trans, converter, wiring adapter, trans mount, yoke for 80e and shortening of driveshaft. Oh yeah, the PCM need retuned for it.

You may need a flat flywheel and spacer, too. I have that if needed.
