    Blacking out tails...

Ok so I was on GMFS the other day and I saw this thread...How to candy your tails... - GMFullsize Forums I am wondering if doing this same process, only using black instead of read, would work? I mean like would it look like I took it to a pro and had them done...
And if so how many coats of black/clear to do?

Your going to want to use real paint. ppg, dupont, ect. or I dont think its going to last

Put the desired amount of black(the darkness you want) then I usually do 4-5 coats of clear.

I've got an Iwata that I will sell you. But it ran me $550 new. Its about 3 years old so I would let it go for $275. I wouldn't buy a high dollar gun unless you are planning on spraying alot more stuff

Yeah I was actually wanting to start doing some of my own stuff...like repaint my front bumper, my chrome trim on the grill, and maybe my handles and mirrors...
Where can I get a pretty decent cheapy gun?
If I cant find anything here I just might have to get that gun from you...

Well the thing about an expensive spray gun is it will last as long as you want it to if its properly maintained.

Can't go wrong with Devilbiss. And as far as tinted tails go I always thought you added a little bit of black to clear and spray it until you get it as dark as need be then just straight clear, cut and buff.
