lol...I bought 6 feet of it - mainly wanted it to go over the AC line next to the turbo housing. I already have a heat barrier sleeve on it but it's pretty close to the turbo, so the more protection the better. Anyway, put that on there and of course had plenty of extra. Put the rest on the upper radiator hose. No real reason other than I had the material, it fit, and who knows - makes it easier to lean on and not get burned if it's real hot I guess. I dunno lol. Anyway...if anyone needs any - NAPA has it cheap.
EDIT: I bought 6 feet to give 3 to Virgil and keep 3 for myself. But I got greedy and used all of it.Sorry Virgil!
