Thread: Any suggestions?

    My truck has been missing profusley here latley, so I hookedup the MODIS to it and i keep getting the same code over and over (random misfire) and it's kind getting annoying. I've changed plugs, plug wires, and coil packs. i cant think of any thing esle i could do to make it quit. Thought i'd post to see if maybe u guys had ne suggestions?? any information would be greatly appreaciated

    I had a similar problem. It turned out to be a cracked egr tube between the intake manifold and the egr solenoid, but I think any vacuum leak would cause an erratic idle. What is MODIS? Is that similar to Autotap or EFI-Live?

    make sure none of your wiring harness is chafing against something. I hear all the time of misfires being caused by wires chafed against something in the engine compartment. Also check to see that there isn't a broken ground or you have corrosion on the connectors going to the coil packs.

    Vacumm leak or fuel pressure maybe.Modis should show you cyl misfire and inj faults.

    i try these suggestions and see if these wont work ill hook it up to the big machine

    Oh yeah, you sure the connections are good on your wires? I had some pull apart on me... created a SES.

    what the hell you mean that its not supposed to be lit up??? lol its been on since i removed the cats hell i dont even see it ne more till is starts flasing that when it shows up random misfire. Hit man the stall but its a factory converter Damn it Hit man i cant hardly type any thing b/c i'm always distracted by your avatar. lol but ther real nice

    MODIS is the snap on version of th mac tool's mentor it's a diagonastics scanner and programmer
