oh yes a turbo on a stock motor will hold fine and will be your best way to go, once im done putting twins on my truck i have a small turbo i am going to throw on the tahoe to make it a better tow rig and also improve the gas mileage while im at it
    2006 silverado SS....Clifford Jr...turbo coming soon

    Shyt yeah, go for it.

LQ4 you have is PERFECT for it.
    lower compression than the LQ9
awesome stock 317 heads with the big 2" intake valves.

You will love the power difference of just 8-10psi.
Intercooler option will make it even better.
    2002 Tahoe 4.8 - soon to be turbo'd - SOLD
    1989 Mustang - LX Vert - 351W-TT - 2inches of dust covering it
    2012 Raptor - 497rwhp at 10psi
If you aint breaking - you aint going fast enough

For any build there are two main questions. What exact performance do you want and how much are you willing to spend to get there. There are other questions. Will it continue to be a daily driver? Do you tow? Are you willing to spend a lot more on the rest of the drivetrain to handle the power? What percentage of the vehicle's intended use will be at the track, looking for better times?

If you wanna stay in the $2-3000 range, some good heads, good cam, long tube headers, custom exhaust, minor bolt-ons, and a custom tune is the way to go. When that gets boring, you could add N2O.

If you have a much larger budget and want some serious power, go all out with a turbo set up, etc.

Look on the SPID label in the glove box to find out if you have an LQ4 or 9. I'm pretty sure all the C3's were LQ4. Shortie headers won't help.

Not sure yet. There are two more topics addressing such. Stainless Works and Dyna Tech both make them but be ready to sacrifice a prize winning show goat 'cause they're really high....

OBX makes some too....I guess they fit but at their much cheaper price I wonder about the quality....
