Thread: Gears are next

    Once I get the exaust done I am getting 3.90 gears. I have a 03 silverado 2 wd. I know its 10 bolt but what rear do I have is it 8.5 30 spline? Please correct me if im wrong so I dont order the wrong parts. Thanks

    I am sure someone with a late model will chime in here shortly but I believe you are correct in thinking the third member is a 8.5" 30 spline unit.

    Yes you have 30T axles. I believe your axle is actually 8.625" but 8.5" ring gear is fine. I heard some nonsense about needing a spacer but I don't know if there's truth to that or not.
