    Wow that is sick. Man, this makes me thing to be careful when doing that stuff, normally IDC and just go under, but from now on I will think twice.

    Just imagine if someone like Ricky was there to help...he couldn't have lifted the truck..and he'd be screwed. Now I know why Danny has always used two sets of jackstands when doing a tranny swap--or anything under the truck. When you go to break loose the bellhousing from the block, we wiggle it pretty damn good to break it away from the keyways...probably in the same fashion as what he did when messing with the CVs...

    Sorry to hear about that man.

    I'm curious - did it give out because of the dirt giving way? I would think "no" because you said it was on plywood. Just curious what part was actually unstable. I do exactly what Greg said - jack stands where I need them then just a little pressure on the jack to serve as a 3rd support point.

    Ouch thats gotta hurt... That is why I always to a push pull test with the truck in the air and the wheels still on it to make sure that sh!t dont happen

    Its crazy to think that something like this actually happens, I mean I KNOW it happens but just hearing about it makes it hit you hard.

    wow ,sorry to hear that.hope he gets well soon .txarc ,i had this happen to me when i was 16,i was pulling the tranny and did exactly what you said ,shook it off the pins and the stands were unsteady .car dropped on me and broke both arms and sternum.i was lucky,i guess.i put my arms up too stop the fall on me ,didnt work ,i came out looking like edward scissor hands.Be careful guys ,o also dont use scissor jacks either.
