alright ill have to look at that when i get home.
alright ill have to look at that when i get home.
i found a total of 4 grounds from the harness. got them all hooked up and still no start. is there another way to tell if im getting spark than pulling the plugs because i did that and didn't see any spark but i would like to find another way just to be sure
When you pulled the plugs did you touch the electrode to a clean metal part like a valve cover or something? The spark plug is normally grounded to the head through the threads, so when you pull it out you need to provide another ground for it.

i think it touched the threaded part of the plug to the cylinder head
You can also try what I did if you have a multimeter. Make sure that it will handle the voltage first, then hook up the ground and hold the positive lead touching the contact in the plug wire. Crank and watch to see if the voltage jumps around.

what kinda voltage does it need to handle
ok nvm theres no spark what should i check
OK going back to your original post, you said that if you spray starting fluid down in there it sounds like it fires a few times. If this is true, then you do have spark. You sure that's right?
What did you put this in? Are you using a stock wiring harness for this engine?

it is a reworked harness. when i was spraying started fluid it would sound like it fired a few times but maybe a half a second apart made alot smoke though. its in a 1993 k2500 the engine is a 5.3 from an 04 yukon denali it does have Grey fuel injector plugs which means its the flex fuel version right?

I'm not sure about the flexfuel part, but it sounds reasonable. Every stock injector I've ever seen has been all black.
Does it have stock cam and rockers?
