Well he got the truck back today. But they only changed the springs on one cyl head. He didn't notice it until he got home and read the RO. He called the dealer but the service manger was gone for the day. He's calling first thing in the morning. lol I even told him to watch for that being they are gonna cover it.

How could two plugs per cylinder possibly do any better than one? I mean once its ignited it ignited...

I think one plug fires on the intake stroke, and the other fires on the exhaust stroke. At least that's what I remember being told, when I had my rustang...

That doesn't make much sense...why would on fire on the exhaust stroke? What would be gained?

Unburned fuel I would imagine, which I assume lowers emissions.

Both plugs fire at once. Any engine that is built so there is no room for the plug in the center of the combustion chamber would benefit from two plugs. With the Hemi's plugs location, only one plug would be prone to detonation because the flame would have to travel so far to burn all the fuel. Twin plugs guarantee more complete combustion.

F*** 4-cylinder engines have had 8 plugs for way more than a decade.

I figured it had something to do with a more complete combustion but it seems that there area easier ways to do that than an extra plug in each cylinder. Isn't that the main idea behind ignition boxes like MSDs?

03-05 hemis fired one on intake and the other on exhaust. back then we where getting custom made short wires and looping back to the adjacent plug to fire both at the same time. but in 06 the germans decided it didnt make a big enough diff to offset the cost of 8 long ass wires and redesigned it to fire both straight out of the coil pack. eliminated secondary wires altogether. purley for warranty costs.......
