Well the last time someone had a drop in oil pressure and it had a tick. A lifter caused it when it collapsed and shot needle bearings out, which lead to the oil pump failing. this could be the same issue. also it could be the oil pump failing and causing the lifter to starve for oil which would make them tick. Also, don't drive it because you wont be able to shut it down quick enough if the pressure falls to 0.

    Danny,

Did you watch the video? Does that look like something it would do if the oil pump is failing?

+1 on the oil pump possible cause, any pinging or knocking noise from the engine is not good, could be the lifters bleeding down due to low oil pressure, I would seriusly stop driving it to prevent further damage, and if did get damaged, make it an excuse to do a stroker kit....
Had a 99 GMC ESCB with LQ4 conversion and Nelson Performance tunning, currently workin on my 82 SCB GMC with carbed LQ4 conversion in progress, Also have a 00 SS Camaro that runs mid 11's all day long with bolt ons, Drag race my 79 malibu that has a 496 BBC runnin 10's on motor, shootin for 9's with the 250 shot of nitrous in its near future. What if you have an external oil cooler like my 4.3 Blazer and my Denali? The Blazer has that sucky old type engine but the GMC has cooler lines hooked up there.

    Exactly.

Daniel, when we first talked--what did I say? Your oil pump IS going out. It's like when you are starting to get sick...you first start coughing a little...then it gets worse...until you get sick completely. But if I was talking about when Virgil gets sick, I would say its like him getting a big red sore on his lips...and then relate it how it looks JUST LIKE the one Alan has...

ANYWAY--These are BLATANT signs the the pump is going out. The more you drive it, the more risk you are running of ruining something.
