Are you measuring 8 as lip to lip, or where the tire bead lays on the rim?? I thought all the 454ss rims and sierra gt and chevy sport chrome slot wheels were 7" based on my memory...You can find 8" van steelies purtty easy at the boneyard though....

Talked with two people today, one confirms that they are 15x8 and another who said they are 15x7 lol.![]()
okay so what is the correct way to measure a rim? lip to lip or not?
these are pics the guy took for me to prove they were 8 inches wide... depending on how you guys measure... but from lip to lip they are 8...

I knew it!! Can you take pics of the wheels I want to see them.
hahah yeah sure when i go pick them up in mass tomorrow! haha.

hell, with pictures like that you could prove that they were 12" wide.![]()
See my truck data in the "My Garage" section here... http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/my-ga...tml#post191709
That is a 9.5 wide rim. From lip to lip they would be closer to 10.5, but industry standard is measured as in those pics.
Those wheels right there are in my driveway. On the inside of the wheel (with tire installed) it has stamped into the steel "15X7.0JJ"
You should have the same thing stamped on the ones you have, wtfan. And the guy sending you those pics of it measured, can just clean the inside and send a pic of the "15X.whatever the width is" and then you will know based on what GM calls it!!
