Tap the block off plate above the oil filter to 1/8" NPT and install the oil pressure switch there. There should be enough wire in the harness just take the tape off of it. You can get a temp sensor adapter from Welcome to Street and Performance

so you do need to run both oil pressure sensors?

Yes, one runs to the pcm and the other from your old engine will go to your gauges. this is the same on the temp and oil pressure.

ok seems red told me I only need one, I broke the one off the 5.3 and he told me to just drill and tap the broken piece for the one off my 5.7

If your sensor is 3/8 NPT then you'll need a 9/16" drill before tapping. That one would not fit the block off plate above the filter without some kind of reducer.

Greg, the drill bit for 3/8-18 NPT is actually 37/64" LOL I was wondering how you get the signal to the PCM using just the vortec sensor on the 5.3 without running wires to it. It would be much simpler to run both sensors. I thought Greg just used 1 sensor, sorry for the confusion.

You can put a Gen3 oil pressure sending unit in the stock place at the top of the block and hook it up to the new Gen3 pcm and also have a sending unit installed into the block off plate above the oil filter hooked into the factor oil pressure wiring.
