Does Nelson Performance mess with SCT tuning? DCX tuning options are pretty crappy as apparently nobody can crack the PCM and I'm looking for an alternative to Superchips, especially as more mods come along. I think SCT recently made some progress so I'm trying to find somebody around who is setup to tune.

I'd also be curious if there were any plans for a handheld option. I suppose the HP Tuners + Notebook would work if Nelson could just e-mail updates or perhaps do some type of data logging. You know, just make it easy to go from tuned to stock without having to swap out the PCM.

But I don't suppose that would exactly be the cheapest way to do it.

    V6 to V8 Swap w/ETC

I just dropped an LS1 in my 02 GMC Sierra and reflashed the CPU using HPTuners and a stock 6.0 tune from the Repository. Problem is, the Electronic Throttle isn't working properly. I've double checked the wiring and all is good. I'm thinking there is probably code in the software for an ETC that's missing. I see Serial Data connections from the CPU to TAC module.
Can someone upload an HPTuners stock bin that has an Electronic Throttle? Or email it to me? lcts04@comcast.net. Preferably from an '02 pickup. My license is just for that year truck.
I've put the stock LS1 throttle body back on to get it running.
    Thanks for any help.

You need a tune from a '03+ truck. DBW was started in '03.

    V6 to V8 Swap w/ETC

No, I need it for the '02. ETC was started the later part of '02. That's probably why it's going to be hard to find. I'll check with the Avalanche forum too. Maybe someone there has it. Thanks for the reply.

Or check on the HPTuner website for a file. I didn't realize the DBW started in 02 on the trucks. Good hunting. Personally I'd keep the cable, it never fails.

    V6 to V8 Swap w/ETC

I thought about keeping the cable but my V6 truck didn't come with cruise. And my '02 Avalanche harness was wired for ETC. So I thought I'd take the easy way out. (Right!) I've downloaded about 4 different tunes from the repository with the same results. It could be a bad TAC module, but voltage test says it's OK. Anyway, thanks for the reply. Nice truck.

This is what the difference is. If the truck came with traction control, then it had ETC. No traction control, cable. Anyone got an '02 truck with traction control?
