Belt alignment issues with LS1 pump

Ok, I can't for the love of god get this damn pulley off! I honestly don't know how anyone used a 3 jaw puller because there is like 2cm of clearance between the back of the pulley and the pump body in most areas. I tried it and the arms kept slipping off. I have a really hard time even getting a peice of flat bar to slide under there to press it out, and one that is thin enough will be too weak. So......just how the hell do they rebuild these things? What is the magic tool that I don't know about?

Ehhh, forget it. I just bought a brand new L92 pump which=$$$$$$$$$$ This is one move I can reccomend to anyone in my situation.lol Anyone wanna buy a brand new rebuilt LS1 pump for a killer price?

I am too late, but you can always gap out the threads of the 3-jaw puller with some sockets so the jaws can grab better.
