Well from your description it sounds like it's just the plastic fitting. If so, as stated above, all you need to do is get a new one and swap them out. The old one works like a fuel line quick disconnect fitting...you'll either have to cut it as described above or get the proper tool to remove it.
Now for the funny part....
You can get the fitting from the dealer by itself, or with a length of hose attached and a few new hose clamps. Guess which one is cheaper? That's right!! The one with the hose and clamps attached. Makes no sense to me, but that's how it goes.
