96-2000 wiring is pretty simple, just post your questions and I'll try to answer them the best I can for you.

I found an intake that doesn't have EGR. I'm pretty sure in 2004 and later is NO EGR...dunno when it started though. The evap solenoid on top of the intake however, you just leave there, it is normally closed i believe.

EVAP simply means evaporative emissions. In other words, on our GM car/truck engines, there are provisions for taking care of the fuel tanks vapors, by running them through a charcoal cannister on there way to the engines intake manifold to burn them. Its another one of those things that can be easily deleted, and does'nt effect the engine operation at all...but thats up to you. Depends on how eco friendly you are. I removed all mine & threw it in the garbage can. You just block off that extra line from the tank. Theres already another vent line that goes up to your fuel fill if you look.

I pulled my evap solenoid off and plugged the canister. Had to delete it from the PCM though.

Alright thanks guys I went and looked at the motor this morning and it all makes sense now, I will have it deleted and just use a vacuum cap to plug the hole..
