well thats what im beginning to think, because the truck has to be able to run i need to get to work everyday.

Also i have some new stock 06 injectors im putting in place of the 99's they are old and worn. Anyone know what the flow rate is ?? im thinking they were like 24.5 or somethign lb/hr.

do i need anything special for those?

sweet. ya basically other than that im thinkin at least a case of beer, brats and burgers, chips, some new coolant, 6 quarts of oil and a filter.

Some one was telling me about a fitting that you put into the sparkplug hole and use an aircompressor, what would that be for?

    do i need one?

thanks guys for all the help, should really be sweet after its done.

ya im going to do it myself with a couple buddies and two guys from the Pt.net forums also offered to help out.

As for shops in the WI depends where you live, i know of a lot of them, problem is i just cant see spending the money to have someone else do the work anymore. i can wrench on it, once i do the work once it is really no big deal and i could do it a million times if i had to. my roomate for next year who is a gm tech, wanted a 1000 bucks to put it in, screw that. id rather take an entire weekend, do everything slow and do it right the first time. plus if anything ever goes wrong i know what it would be and how to fix it.

theres lots of guys on here who are willing to help.

ok ill get one, i assume then that you just go cylnider by cylinder then staring with one of them and change the valve springs.

what pressure is usually used to keep those up?

I'm pretty sure teh 1999 5.3 used 19 pph injectors, with its 270 hp and 315 lb/ft of torque. The 5.3 used larger injectors in later years.
