I really just want to find a solid, running 6.0 that's reasonable. What do you guys think about me just trying to build my 4.8?
Hell, go buy the 6.0L for $500 from the burned out truck. Everything that burned or melted down can be taken off the top of yours and put on the 6.0L. I say do it--that way you save $1500 and get the chance to strip that thing down and go through it and clean it up and what not... Use the $1500 to pay for the mods to the 6.0L!!!! <--Best option, IMHO...

That is a good idea...I'd really like to keep the 4.8 around though as a back up engine. I may just slowly build the 6.0 up and add some goodies along the way. Can you put an LS6 intake on a 6.0?

Well, you can keep the 4.8L still--but take the stuff off needed to get the 6.0L running..and then once you've got the 6.0L installed and running good--then go back and purchase the things you need to make the 4.8L motor complete. That way you can take your time and find good deals on the parts for the 4.8L--all the while having a 6.0L in your truck now.

Yes, you can use an LS6 on a 6.0L. But you will have to relocate some of the accessories because the intake is shorter than the truck intake...
