    Here's the story....

After I installed the NGK's, two of my employees were dying for a test drive. We headed for the highway, and where the 45 zone changes to 65, I punched it and took off. I didn't let go until the computer shut me down at 98 MPH, which only took about 5-6 seconds. Well, a local law enforcement officer was 2 cars behind me and watched the whole thing. It took him a couple of miles to catch up to me. He didn't have his radar on, he visually estimated my speed at 80. He asked me how fast I went, I told him 90. I could have been arrested for reckless driving since I doubled the speed limit, he said. But he was smiling and his hands were shaking while he was talking to me. I think he had fun chasing me down. He complimented me on the nice truck, I told him it was my first drive w/new supercharger. He laughed and told me to take it to the track! Anyway, he gave me a citation for speed:reasonable and prudent, without attaching a MPH. $100 fine and 2 points. Not too bad, eh? The reckless driving charge would have been a trip to jail, impounded truck, HUGE fine, and 6 points. He also "recommended" that I "exercise my rights", I think he meant plea not guilty and go to court. I think if I do, he might not show up.

I am not understanding the reasonable and prudent part. All of my tickets either say 54 in a 30, 85 in a 60, 75 in a 35 etc. What is all that?

P.S. A cop in fort worth tried to tell me that I was doing "well over 100" and he got pissed when I told him that it wouldn't let me do more than 98 yet.

In Alaska, you can get a ticket for speed, beyond reasonable & prudent. So if the road conditions are bad, and you are driving the posted speed limit, you can actually get a ticket for speeding, if the officer thinks you are going too fast for the current conditions.

yeah they can do that here but they hardly ever do. I just have never heard the term "reasonable and prudent"
