mean05, thanks for the input. i agree on the wieght issue. but take in mind im comparing only trucks here. not my vette, or my ss. just trucks. have you driven both styles? did you notice a difference? i see a big difference.

the cam, i thought would be small enough to boost torque, not kill it. maybe my thinking is wrong on this one. it is actually one step smaller than what comp cams recommended for my truck, a daily driver with light mods that will tow my cars around. its a baby compared to my other vehicles.

im completely up for suggestions and comments.

If you are in houston you could come by and we could log it to see if it is pulling timing out of the hole, and to verify throttle position is at 100% when you nail it. I live in Tomball so if you are close let me know. Keep in mind that with the heat we are having the power is going to be way down this time of year. Anyway at least you would have logs to send Allen.

so it seems the next best mod would be a convertor?

any opinions on the trailblazer inline 5 cylinder convertor? i like the fact its still factory.

thinking about it, convertor may be the answer. i noticed the truck sometimes stumbles hard when stopping. almost like its going to die, then catches itself and idles. maybe this is the idle speed against a locked vertor. just like coming to a stop in a standard without pushing in the clutch.
