    steering makeing noises????

    ok on my truck when ever i turn the steering wheel it makes a little squeaky sound..and it stops when i the steering wheels is strait ..any ideas??
    you think it might be the power steering?

    Does it sound like it is coming from the inside steering column or from the underhood pump or rack and pinion setup?

    Inner tie rods go out quick on those trucks especially with bigger, heavier wheels. Check your bushings also, you could have some metal on metal. Are your tires wearing evenly?

    My steering makes all kinda of noises, when I turn it makes a bunch of thunk noises. Im runnin 35x13.5R18's which is prob. my problem

    You need a new intermediate steering shaft. I've had mine regreased once, fixed it for awhile but it is banging again. Gonna replace it this time.

    yea well i only had 22' for about 3 months and went back to stock wheels yeah they are evenly..

    i dont know but i sound inside ..i am gona check the bushings to see if they are worn.

    You might check on it, GM will warranty the intermediate shaft. They did my old truck and another friends truck under warranty.

    I think it reallly applies to vehicles with steering wheel controls...i.e. radio controls...mine does it had it regreased and it went away...
