    new guy in Kentucky

hope all is well just saying hey and love the site so far. I have 96 gmc sierra 2wd extended cab and just started working with it recently. Will be working more since hit a deer about a month ago but below you'll see pics from before and after.
But if anyone has any info on swapping a 5.3/6.0/ls1 into these style trucks i'd really appreciate it. Might as well since have the radiator support out anyways. lol.

Welcome to the site. Deer are such a pain. I just bumped a couple of does at less than 5 mph and busted the pass side headlight, grille, turn sig and both headlight housings!!! I do not think the swap would be too much trouble, I would go with the 6.0 You will need the PCM and wireing harness for it. Where in KY are ya? I'm in Northern Mid TN.

Welcome to the site! Sorry to hear about your little accident...damn animals--why can't they learn to look BOTH ways before crossing the street?

There is a Swap Section here on the board--it will tell you most of everything you need to know about the LSX swap. You have a motor yet? I would tell you to go with a 6.0L--but if you can't get your hands on one, a 5.3L would do just fine...
