i was at Hennesy's track this weekend and his heads/cam SRT-8 pulled off a whooping 13.3...i was rolling laughing cause he ran slower/right at stock times...i love both of them but you just cant beat the aftermarket world that is there for Chevy's so the TBSS has a lot more potential in the end

    - I'm not even gonna comment it's not worth it, it would be like me commenting on the Z06 that I know nothing about. All I can say that with just a tune and CAI this past weekend at Ennis when temps were in the highs 80's, DA was +2200 and running heat soaked I was still running 13.12 enough said. My 12.79 was back in October when the temps were 45 degrees, DA was minus 1100 and the Jeep had been sitting at Little River for 4 hours before being the first to go down the track. This debate has gone on way too long on one of the SRT sites and it got ugly. Look if you do not plan on modding, want something fast and different and have about 40-45 grand buy the Jeep. If you plan on modding and are familiar with the TBSS engine buy that. Talking to many of the TBSS owners they are all worried about their transmissions not holding up to all these bolt-ons they are putting on the TBSS to "KEEP UP" with the SRT Jeep so keep that in mind

AND the TBSS sites. There are some real ignorant TBSS and JeepSRT8 guys out there that ruin it for the rest of us. This is actually the first time I've commited on this subject cause it starts a huge stink and feelings always get hurt. Like I said in a previously in this thread, you will not be disappointed in either and every vehicle has it's weak points. For the TBSS, it's the transmission(emagine that GM?) but, I think it's mostly the AWD guys. Not to just bash GM tranny's, I think Crysler has had their far share of tranny issues as well.

To answer OP question, mine is fully loaded except tv's - $33,500 out the door.

i thought you said you werent going to comment...lol its not that serious dude so dont get all offended but people buy the jeep to be different. they feel like they are being like everybody else. i never said anything bad about the jeep. but if chrysler is so bad ass why cant they sell anything. chevrolet is a company that has products that stick longer. its just true... what do you see people buying and modding chevys or dodges. i like dodges too .. just not enough to buy. and not enough to buy just to be different. the one thing i hate is dodge has put the hemi in everything but the sebring. i mean really.... you got give credit where its due. not to take anything away from the jeep. but general consensus says chevy is better..sorry

This is what it took to take my basically stock Jeep on Friday night at Ennis, TBSSOWNERS.COM (224/230 112+4, Kooks LTs, 3400 Vig. TC, ADM MAF, fender mount CAI, PCM4LESS race tcm ) member Saladbar met me at the track and we had a blast I was running 13.2's he was running 12.7 and 12.8's at the end, he was running drag radials as well.

I do like the srt jeep, but as for all cars or as you mentioned the tbss owners you talked too worrying about they're trannys, you start modding more and more you will eventually break you have too expect the worse, how much does the tbss run off the show room floor?

Yeah, I do agree with you Wade--and Kurt--about the debate between the SRT and SS guys. There are some douce bags on both sides of the fence with ruins it for everybody. All in all, we should just concentrate on the simple fact of friendly brand rivarly and to race what you brought. The Jeep has the upper hand on the TBSS just because it has a larger motor with more HP and torque, not to mention a 5 speed auto and AWD. The TBSS is cheaper, has a smaller motor, 4 speed auto, the availability of AWD, and less power from the factory. With that said--facts are facts--and the SRT-8 GC would beat a TBSS stock. Hands down. But the TBSS does have the ability of aftermarket mods and the SRT-8 GC really doesn't. If you look at it from a money standpoint, if you have $45k in your hand and one guy buys a SRT-8 GC and another guy buys a TBSS, the SRT-8 GC owner can only buy the vehicle and have no money left over to spend on mods. The TBSS owner has roughly $12k to spend in mods. One could easily spend $4k in mods to the TBSS and it would easily beat a SRT-8 GC. But all in all, it comes down to what you want. Both vehicles are very nice and are the factory performance version of a plain SUV.

Wade, Saladbar is a great guy and he has a very nice and quick truck. You guys are the reason why there is friendly competition between brands.
