    external f/p advice needed

    god ive missed my truck,lol.so todays ordeal was fuel pump decided not too work.after changing pump i discovered i wasnt getting power to it via fuel management unit .parts are all aeromotive.so long story short i bypassed my fmu and wired the pump directly too get home.this is the problem ,it doent likr too start now it takes like 10 times to get er going if im lucky.what difference do i have except beeing direct wired.the old setup the pumpp would kick on for 5 sec then go off till i started the truck.then remain on low speed till above 3k rpm .due to the fmu .im prettty sure that the pump can be direct with the exception of premature pump failure.what could be the starting issue tho?now the fmu had a wire that went too original f/p that cutoff atfter 5 seconds tiill start.is this any issue now that it isnt working like that?idk.am i getting too much fuel or not enough now.?and last is it safe too run my system like this wihou worry of something exploding,?seems like the a/n lines are really hard now ,with it in high speed all the time.ive got a regulator on theyre but can it push enough out as fast as its putting it in?it goes down the rd same as usual just has a starting problem.wth ,this should be fairly easy wire pump direct and go .

    How much fuel pressure do you have? Does it smell rich when it starts like it has too much fuel?

    no it doesnt smell ,it takes llike 10 tries to get it going.i havent checked f/pressure yet .kinda weird i didnt change the pressure i just made the puump run constant,by direct wiring it.seems like theyre would be no reason to reset f/press,although im gettting alittle burp every now and then going down the rd..i guess i have too get a diagram to wire it through the f/p relay somehow.if anyone has that let me know.or know how i should wire it to function properly.i m sure somehow it has to go through the f/p relay.

    well its fixed again .i had a stupid bad wire coming from the original fuel pump harness that was wired imnto the fmu .i had a connector spliced in the harness and the harness had gotten some water in it and corroded ,therefor causing bad connection.problem solved.o and guess what ?the converters werent clogged it must have had to do with fuel pressure.i had no idea because the pump was running so i though my pressure was at desired f/p i set it at.the pump is quieter with a good connection.
