Might be interested, and may be coming that way in a week or so. What led you to believe the tranny is weak?

I'm going to need a computer to control the engine and trans if I swap this into a truck older than a 96 correct?

You need a computer to control that engine no matter what you swap it into that did not come with that engine.

Even if you go carb? I know the tranny has to have a computer. Don't really want to go carb though. Wonder if the computer is somewhere there with the motor/trans?

Now thats a horse of another color. Once you start changing it around then needs change. If carbed, you'll need a way to run the ignition, most likely, unless you go old school on the distributor. A 60e is going to need some kind of controller unless you go to a full manual valve body.
